Drawing on Wisdom: The Art of Willem Vee

Sanity

Image for Sanity
A person’s claim of clarity is inversely proportional to the acceptance of an illusion.

Sometimes I wonder whether it’s the normal people who need an asylum.

The definition of insanity? Trying to force a society of unique individuals to conform to a definition of “normal” delineated by those who have never achieved a state of quixotic transcendence or experienced glimpses of reality through the doctrine of reason. Who has the right to force delusional beliefs on rational people or ridicule the abstract expression of ingenuity? The school? The church? The government? “For-the-people-by-the-people” institutions operated by sleepers who pass through life with eyes closed, missing the opportunity to awaken and live a beneficial existence? In such a society, where can a sane person find asylum?
