Drawing on Wisdom: The Art of Willem Vee
CREATION
40 x 60 inches
[Inspired by Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel.]

And when God (a label given to an unknowable phenomenon by a species self-classified as Homo sapiens) created Earth and gave life to Adam, humanity was born.

Separation anxiety plagued members of a species seeking to understand the meaning of life and reunite with their creator.

During their quest, these imperfect beings brought machines to life, and when the first clone was born, they named him Adam.

Unwittingly, the search was over as they became God.

Monitored by so many billions of gods, these imperfect machines and clones would need to serve a beneficial purpose to avoid their own judgment day. Until...

They too became God and created even more imperfect creations of their imperfect selves.

Maybe the connection to the unknown is better left to our minds than to our hands.
